CJ Dunn is a graphic designer and type designer based in New York City. In 2013, he started working for Font Bureau. And in 2016, he launched his digital type foundry, CJ Type, where he designs typefaces for retail and custom clients, and released his first retail typeface, Dunbar. He enjoys both making type and using type, and is interested in the dialog between the two practices. His graphic design work can be found at Copter Design Studio. He keeps track of type related events in New York at Type NY. He has been a consultant for Society of Scribes.
CJ is a graduate of Type@Cooper where he designed a typeface called Range which you are reading now. He designed a pangram poster series for The Cooper Hewitt Design Museum Shop. He also designed “Polaris, A Typographic Pop-Up” exhibition at MORI and objects from the pop-up are now available in their store. If you are a fellow typeface designer, you can use his RoboFont extension called Delorean to preview your interpolations throughout the design process. And if you want to get in touch, CJ can be emailed at firstname.lastname@example.org
